Description

EDIT: Fixed some things, like the writing on the swords and the designs on her clothing. I also improved the placement of the texture I used for the floor.

This took quite a bit of time (I think around ten hours? More?) but it doesn't seem like too much because I did it in two big chunks: one right before I went on my trip and one after. I decided to illustrate the scene from Polaris' origin story, so that's where the dragons came from. Not much else to say other than this is my proof to everyone that I can indeed draw anthropomorphic characters competently.

If you want to critique, be aware of the fact that the dragons are supposed to be highly stylized and ghostlike– don't throw around anatomy crits that are out of context.

Well first off, the subject matter is close to my heart because it's my own character, Polaris, but even without that this is a wonderful picture.

The anthro anatomy is spot on - the fur texture shocked me with it's detail - and the wings especially are great, though maybe set a bit low. I like the way you took the glowing sword as your light source, that gives an unusual lighting to the picture and suits the mysterious mood of it, well done. Overall the special effects here are great. I wasn't expecting the dragons of the swords to appear, that was a lovely surprise, and the stylised translucency you gave them shows their spiritual nature well - you captured my description of them perfectly! Paws, hands and face = far better than I draw them.

There are a few niggles that I noticed, this being my OC You forgot the writing on the swords (their names are written on them in runes) and the gold decoration on her clothing, as well as making her mane entirely black rather than white with black highlights.

But these are minor details that don't detract from the overall awesomeness - this is a lovely, lovely piece that I wish I could put on my wall! Thank you from the bottom of my heart for adopting me, and putting so much effort into something when you're not getting anything in return At least, not yet...
